Why merge in the browser matters
Most free merge tools upload your PDFs to a server, combine them there, and send the result back. For a random image that is fine. For the documents people actually merge — signed contracts, bank statements, tax paperwork, medical records — it means handing private files to a company you know nothing about.
This tool reads your PDFs into your browser's memory, joins them there, and hands back the result. Nothing is transmitted. You can watch the Network tab in your browser's developer tools and confirm no upload happens.

How do I merge PDF files?

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The merge happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, which matters for contracts, statements, medical records and anything else you would not want sitting on someone else's server.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 20 files in one go, with no limit on how many pages each contains or how many times you run it. There is no account and no watermark.
Can I change the order of the files?
Yes. Each file appears in a list with up and down arrows. The merged PDF follows the order shown, top to bottom, so arrange them before merging.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Merging copies the original pages exactly as they are into a new document — text stays selectable, images keep their resolution. It is not re-rendering or re-compressing anything.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not while they are locked. A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first, in the app that can open it, before it can be merged here. This is a limitation of the encryption, not the tool.
Will the merged file be very large?
It is roughly the sum of the originals. If the result is bigger than you need — for an email attachment or an upload limit — you can shrink it afterwards, though heavy compression can soften scanned pages.
