Top reasons CUET photos get rejected

Wrong file size. A photo outside 10–200 KB, or a signature outside 4–30 KB, is rejected by the portal. The tool above fixes this automatically.

Signature file too large. CUET's 30 KB signature limit is tight — many students get stuck here. The tool compresses it to fit.

Background not white or light. A plain white or light background is required. Dark or busy backgrounds get flagged.

Face too small or not front-facing. Your face should cover about 80% of the photo and look straight at the camera.

Signature in capital letters or blurred. The signature must be legible, in running hand — never block capitals.

Wrong format. Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. PNG and other formats fail.

Note: Like other NTA exams, CUET allows spectacles if you wear them regularly — but not coloured glasses or sunglasses.

How to resize your photo for CUET UG

  1. Take a recent colour photo on a plain white or light background — front-facing, face covering about 80% of the frame, no cap. Glasses are fine if you wear them regularly.
  2. On this page, CUET UG is already selected. Choose Photo or Signature.
  3. Upload your image, then drag and zoom so your face fills most of the frame.
  4. Click Resize & compress — the tool outputs a JPG in the correct KB range (10–200 KB for the photo, 4–30 KB for the signature).
  5. Download the file and upload it at the CUET application on cuet.nta.nic.in.

CUET photo & signature — FAQ

What is the photo size for CUET UG 2026?

The CUET UG 2026 photograph must be a recent passport-size colour photo, between 10 KB and 200 KB, in JPG/JPEG format, on a plain white or light background. A clear front-facing photo with about 80% face coverage is recommended.

What is the CUET signature size?

The CUET signature must be in JPG/JPEG format, between 4 KB and 30 KB, signed in black or blue ink on white paper. It must be in running hand and not written in capital letters.

Can I wear glasses in the CUET photo?

Yes. NTA allows spectacles in the CUET photo if you wear them regularly. Do not wear coloured glasses or sunglasses, and keep your face clearly visible.

My signature file is too big for CUET. How do I make it under 30 KB?

Use the tool on this page and choose Signature. It resizes and compresses your signature to fit inside the 4–30 KB range automatically, then gives you a JPG ready to upload.

Can I use the same photo for CUET and other NTA exams?

Yes. A recent passport-size colour photo that meets the size rules can usually be reused across NTA exams like NEET and JEE Main, as long as it is recent and clear.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your photo and signature never leave your device, so nothing is uploaded anywhere.
