JEE Main Photo & Signature Size 2026
The JEE Main photo must be a recent passport-size colour photo, 10–200 KB, in JPG format, on a white background, with your name and the photo date printed at the bottom. The signature must be JPG, 10–100 KB, in black or blue ink and not in capital letters. Use the free tool below to resize and compress your photo to the exact size — it runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Exam specifications change between cycles. Always confirm the exact photo and signature requirements in your official notification PDF before you submit. This tool prepares your file; it can't guarantee acceptance.

Top reasons JEE Main photos get rejected
Wrong file size. A photo over 200 KB or under 10 KB is rejected by the portal. The tool above fixes this automatically.
No name or date on the photo. NTA requires your name and the photo date printed at the bottom.
Background not white or light. A plain white or light background is required. Dark or busy backgrounds get flagged.
Face too small or not front-facing. Your face should cover about 80% of the photo and look straight at the camera.
Signature in capital letters or blurred. The signature must be legible, in running hand — never block capitals.
Wrong format. Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. PNG and other formats fail.
Note: Like NEET, JEE Main allows spectacles if you wear them regularly — but not coloured glasses or sunglasses.
How to resize your photo for JEE Main
- Take a recent colour photo on a white or light background — front-facing, face covering about 80% of the frame, no cap. Glasses are fine if you wear them regularly.
- On this page, JEE Main is already selected. Choose Photo or Signature.
- Upload your image, then drag and zoom so your face fills most of the frame.
- Click Resize & compress — the tool outputs a JPG inside the 10–200 KB range.
- JEE Main also requires your name and the photo date printed at the bottom — add this before uploading. Then upload the file at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
